POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery at a cash and carry in Wembley on Sunday.

Officers were called at around 2.45pm to reports of an armed robbery at Jeen Cash and Carry, in Harrow Road.

Police have said three black men with their faces covered entered the convenience store through the main entrance and made demands for money.

One man was carrying a firearm and the other two men had knives.

During the robbery one male shop assistant in his late 20s was assaulted and received a facial injury.

He required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

The suspects then ran away towards Oakington Manor Drive.

All three men were wearing dark coloured clothing and no further descriptions are available at this time.

Detective Constable Neil Curran, from the Metropolitan Police Service's Flying Squad, said: "We are particularly keen to speak to any members of the public, or customers who were inside the store, who may have witnessed anything at the time of or prior to the robbery.

There have been no arrests following the robbery.
