Fundraisers for a local hospice are being challenged to walk over beds of hot coal and broken glass in a bid to raise cash.
A team of volunteers from Dagenham Motors in Edgware Road will attempt to cross the 650°C bed of coals on Monday, October 29, to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice in Kenton Road.
The team are encouraging others to come and join them for the firewalk at Claremont High School in Claremont Avenue from 6pm.
Occupational therapist Natasha Powell, 33, said: “I’m taking part because a good friend of mine had their granddad in the hospice a few months ago and he was very happy with the care he received before he died.
“I have an ankle injury and feeling a little nervous about taking part but I am excited if I am able to do it so will keep fingers crossed.”
