Wembley mother and baby attacked, and husband badly beaten, after confronting gang in 'completely cowardly' attack

A Wembley mother holding her young baby was attacked after her husband confronted a gang of men outside their flat on Saturday night.
The victim, 39, was attacked with a stick outside her home in Rainborough Close at 11.30pm, fracturing her leg and causing her and her one-year-old baby to fall to the ground, moments after her husband had been badly beaten.
The 52-year-old man had left the flat after hearing noise outside to see what was going on, but when he asked the 15-strong group, he was immediately set upon, being repeatedly punched and a drink being poured over him.
The group, described as black men aged between 20-30, ran off before police arrived.
Detective Inspector Mike West, of Brent Police, said the community could expect “a swift and strong response” if witnesses came forward with information.
He added: “This is a completely cowardly assault, especially when adding the fact that a young baby has been put in danger during the incident.
“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and help police arrest and deal with this group quickly and effectively, and together we can stop any other innocent members of the public being harmed by them.”
