A television preacher has been jailed for sexually assaulting women who visited him for help in his Alperton studios.

Alain Bhatupa, 37, of Alston Road in Upper Edmonton, was yesterday sent to prison for nine years for three counts of digital penetration and two counts of sexual assault.

The man, who calls himself The Prophet Alain, was found guilty of the offences of Wednesday, July 4, at Harrow Crown Court.

The 'spiritual healer' came to police attention in August 2011  after a 61-year-old woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted after visiting him at his television office at Crown House, North Circular Road in Brent.

She had visited him to seek treatment for her severe back pain. Bhatupa examined her, sexually assaulted her, and asked for a financial ‘offering’ of more than £500.

In early September, a 40-year-old woman reported to police that in August 2011, she visited Bhatupa to help her with her foot inflammation.

During the visit, Bhatupa sexually assaulted her and asked for more than £600.

Both victims had seen Bhatupa performing 'spiritual healings' on his regular slot on Religious Wonderful TV, and had arranged appointments with him in good faith believing that he would help them overcome their conditions.

Can't believe what goes on!Good job the Police apprehended him and that he is out of circulation now.

Let's hope he has time to ponder his actions at leisure while doing the time.
