Young environmentalists display project at Science Museum

Young environmentalists will display their project on Harrow’s Kodak factory at a museum this month.

Pupils at Salvatorian College in High Street, Wealdstone, took part in the The Science Museum's Climate Science Outreach Project, which invited 48 schools to submit articles on a range of environmental issues from wind farms to hedgehog populations.

Salvatorian students impressed judges with their article exploring the redevelopment of the Kodak factory site and received a commendation from the Guardian newspaper.

They considered the environmental impacts of redevelopment and interviewed local people about their thoughts.

Dani Williams, Science Museum outreach project coordinator, said: “The outreach scheme aims to increase young people’s understanding of climate science and inspire them to become climate change ambassadors in their schools or communities. They have certainly done that.”

The school’s work will be displayed at the Science Museum in Exhibition Road, South Kensington from Wednesday, June 27 to Saturday, June 30.
