People have until Monday to have their say about the redevelopment of the former Kodak site in Wealdstone.

The camera film company announced earlier this year that its Harrow View site would not be affected by its decision to file for bankruptcy.

But bosses did reveal the firm had already planned to reduce the space used on the site and in 2008 it formed a partnership with developers Land Securities, to for redevelopment.

The proposed plans, which were submitted to the council in January, include residential homes, student accommodation, a care home, a primary school, open space and a new health centre.

Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, said the site's redevelopment was a “huge opportunity” for Harrow and encouraged people to submit their views.

He said: “I know change can bring uncertainty to people with reasonable concerns about the impact it can have on traffic, for instance.

“But people should take part and hold the developers to account, otherwise we will not see a scheme that is in the best interests of Harrow.”
