Editor’s note dated September 2020:  Ms Leyland no longer lives in Harrow or gives yoga lessons.

A yogathon this weekend raised hundreds of pounds against human trafficking.

Camilla Leyland, a yoga instructor who lives in London Road, Harrow, held the one hour and 20-minute yogathon on Saturday, which raised £500 for Odanadi Seva, a charity which raises money to prevent women and children being sold into the worldwide sex trade.

The event, at the YMCA centre in Roxeth Hill, saw around ten people do the 108 yoga sun salutations. The 34-year-old, who has a four-year-old daughter, Inaya, said she was thrilled because she only expected to raise £150.

She said: “With almost £500 raised we are doing great work and hope to repeat it next year on an even bigger and better scale. Many who turned up were expecting to do just a quarter or half of the 108 sun salutations, but we did them all and the sun came out as we did them.”
