Passengers had a lucky escape when a double-decker bus caught fire in Eastcote Road, Pinner, this afternoon.
Flames destroyed the top deck of the bus, but all passengers escaped unhurt before firefighters arrived just after 12.30pm.
The blaze was under control by 1pm and the 49-year-old bus driver was taken to Northwick Park Hospital, in Watford Road, Harrow, and treated for smoke inhalation.
A spokesman for Transport for London said it is believed the fire was started “maliciously” but the incident is now under investigation by London Fire Brigade.
