MEMBERS of different faiths came together in Enfield Island Village for a lunch to learn more about each other's religions.

Around 50 people attended the inter-faith lunch on Saturday, January 7, arranged by Enfield Island Village Trust at the community hall in Island Centre Way.

Attendees were asked to bring one of their traditional dishes to share, and speak about their faith.

Martine Eni, community development co-ordinator for the trust, said the event was entertaining and informative.

She said: “It was the first time we had done something like this, it was a very different kind of event.

“It was great to see people of different religions coming, sitting down and listening to each other.

“It was really enjoyable and everybody is asking for another one.”

Joining the lunch were the leaders of a local Muslim group, a Hare Krishna leader, members of a Pentacostal church group and Hindus from the village.
