TOTTENHAM’S legal challenge to the decision over who takes over the Olympic stadium has moved forward to the next stage.

The club competed against West Ham for the right to move into the ground after the 2012 games but lost and is trying to derail its east London rivals through a challenge at the High Court.

Permission has been granted for a judicial review of the decision and Spurs, together with Leyton Orient, will be given the chance to put its case to a judge.

The decision came after speculation last night that last minute talks between Tottenham, mayor of London Boris Johnson and the Government might end the dispute.

But the club’s lawyers this morning pushed ahead with the hearing.
