VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help run a charity market held monthly in north Harrow to raise money for people with learning disabilities.
The Harrow Gateway table top sale was held on Saturday at Gateway House, North Harrow car park, in Pinner Road, with stalls selling plants, jewellery, bric-a-brac, books and greetings cards.
Secretary Sylvia Parsons said: “August tends to be a quiet one so many people were on holiday unfortunately as were some of our stall-holders.
“We raised about £100. We are open every first Saturday of the month and we welcome anyone to come along.
“We rely entirely on volunteers so we could really do with people who want to join us to either work for Harrow Gateway or to run a stall.
“We were involved with Harrow Mencap previously but have been working on our own for about 12 years.
“I’ve been involved with learning disabilities for about 40 years. The charity is a great cause and helps many people through providing sporting and other activities.”
