A FORMER Tottenham manager will hand out prizes at a charity football tournament tomorrow (Sunday).
The Nia Champions League, now in its second year, will kick-off at 12pm at The Hive Football Centre, in Camrose Avenue, Canons Park, with six-a-side teams fighting it out in the group stages.
The competition will have teams vying for the Nia Champions League cup and the Europa cup and will include participation from ex-Tottenham manager, Peter Shreeves and ex-Millwall footballer, Terry McQuade.
The group of the tournament are from 12 to 2.30pm and the knock-out stages are from 2.30pm-4.30pm.
Money raised through the tournament will go to helping children in some of the poorest parts of Africa.
The charity’s founder, Shezmin Madhani, said: “It’s great to be hosting the tournament again for a second year and especially to have the support of Peter Shreeves and Terry McQuade whose input and advice has been priceless.
“This year we have had a generous amount of support through sponsors such as Waitrose Wine Direct, Holiday Inn and Treats & Snax which has allowed us to ensure that all the funds raise from this tournament goes straight to the cause.
“To top it off we have had an overwhelming amount of support with teams coming from as far as Birmingham to play in this tournament.
“To put it into perspective, it costs just £5 to feed and educate one child for an entire month so each team that enters the tournament will help 20 children.”
