HARROW residents are being asked for their views on whether the council should ban casinos in the borough.
Under the Licensing Act 2005, the council can adopt a "no casino" policy and refuse to issue licences.
Councillors want to know whether residents would support this move.
The licensing committee is due to make a recommendation to the full council on October 24.
Council leader Councillor Chris Mote said: "The councillors who sit on the licensing committee are extremely keen to find out what the community thinks on this issue.
"There has been a great deal of national publicity in recent months about casinos, and whilst it does not seem to be an immediate issue in Harrow, we must make sure that we are well prepared for future enquiries."
Residents are asked to respond "yes" or "no" to the following question: Should Harrow Council include a "no casino" resolution in the Statement of Gambling Policy?
