POLICE are hunting for a man who fondled and groped a young woman as she passed a bus stop in Belmont.

The 18-year-old woman was walking home along Kenton Lane when she came to the bus stop outside Belmont Medical Centre, in Belmont Circle.

A man at the bus stop grabbed her bottom as she walked past, and then followed the woman grabbing her repeatedly before kissing her on the forehead.

The woman resisted his attentions and pushed him away, and eventually escaped to call police from a nearby shop.

The incident happened on Monday, October 25, at aroound 10pm, and officers investigating have appealed for information.

The suspect is described as black, aged between 20 and 25, with an unkempt beard. He is also said to be fat and have a “baby face”.

He was wearing a black shiny hooded puffa jacket and dark trousers at the time of the assault, and police have appealed for anyone with information to call 0208 733 3482 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
