A TEENAGER from Enfield was one of five air cadets in England chosen to spend two weeks on a cultural exchange to Hong Kong.
Chris Sudle, 19, from Holmwood Road, was picked for the excursion by the International Air Cadet Exchange Association after submitting an essay and a recommendation from his commanding officer.
He returned last Thursday after spending a fortnight seeing the sights, including the Hong Kong International Airport and the British Consulate-General.
As well as touring Hong Kong, he and the other 40 air cadets from around the world spent four days in mainland China and were taken up in a helicopter with the Hong Kong Government Flying Service.
Speaking to the Enfield Independent, Mr Sudle said: "There were cadets there from France, Canada, South Korea, everywhere, so we had the chance to exchange stories and experiences.
"It was the best two weeks I've ever spent away as I made so many friends and did so many different things."
Mr Sudle first joined the 85 Enfield and Southgate Squadron seven years ago, and recommended it to other youngsters.
"It's something a little different," he said. "You can be at home in front of the TV or you could be at the cadets learning about how planes fly or out learning how to shoot.
"It's a great experience."
