SHOPPERS in Pinner can get a sneak preview of a summer art exhibition while in town thanks to an innovative community project.

Artists from Pinner Sketch Club have put their work on display at shops and businesses around the town ahead of a summer exhibition later this month.

The aim is to give residents a taste of the work on display and encourage people to attend the exhibition in Pinner Parish Hall between Saturday, August 21 and Saturday, September 4.

More than 25 businesses around High Street and Bridge Street have got involved in the project and offered to display the work, the first time the prject dubbed Art in the Village has been done in Pinner.

Barbara Gomez Del Olmo, one of the members of Pinner Sketch Club, said the exhibition is an opportunity for shoppers to see work from new and established artists and perhaps even to buy a piece of art.

She said: “The event will add to the vibrancy and charm of Pinner, and shoppers and visitors will enjoy the opportunity to see work by some very talented local artists.

“We look forward to lots of Harrow residents coming to have a look at some exciting shop windows.”

The shop displays were launched on Friday, August 6, and will be on show until the end of the official exhibition.

The exhibition, at the parish hall in Church Lane, is open between 10am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, and from midday to 6pm on Sundays. Admission is free.
