A TOTTENHAM burglar who attacked an Edmonton man with a stun gun during a house raid has been jailed.

Edmond Massengor, 23, from Tottenham; Richard Abatan, 21, from Hackney; and Aiden McGowan, 18, of no fixed abode, were jailed for four years and six months each.

They were convicted and sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court, in Lordship Lane, on Thursday.

The thieves put on masks and broke into the house in Gareth Drive, occupied by a 26-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, on February 2.

They demanded money and when the man tried to escape, Massengor used a stun gun to stop him.

Abatan and McGowan continued to harass the woman inside the house until the police arrived and wrestled Massengor to the ground.

Abatan and McGowan were arrested a short time later at the scene.

All three were charged with aggravated burglary on February 3.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Ball, of Robbery and Burglary Unit, Enfield, said: "The victims were subjected to a horrific ordeal, which thankfully was not prolonged because officers arrived on scene quickly.

"I would like to commend those officers as it’s thanks to them that these suspects are now off the streets.

"I hope the lengthy sentences Massengor, Abatan and McGowan have received will go some way to appeasing the victims, and will allow them to get on with their lives."
