A HARROW councillor has said he is “saddened” by the Pakistan air crash which killed all 152 people on board.
The Airblue flight from Karachi to Islamabad crash-landed close to the Pakistani capital yesterday, coming down in a valley in monsoon weather and poor visibility.
Investigators are trying to establish what caused the plane to go down and who was on board.
Councillor Husain Akhtar, (Conservative, Canons) said today: “I’m saddened by the loss of life in this accident and my thoughts are with the families, relatives and friends of those killed.
“I share the grief and sorrow of the Pakistani community in Harrow and beyond.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has declared a day of mourning today for the victims of the crash.
The government has said it is not believed to be an act of terrorism.

We all feel deeply saddened and send our heartfelt sympathies and sincere prayers to all those who have been bereaved.Pakistan has observed a National day of mourning .
Prayers have been offered locally in memory of those who lost their lives so unexpectedly. Our thoughts and good wishes are with them as they try to come to terms with this terrible trauma.
Added to this the flash floods in North West Pakistan has claimed hundreds of lives and devastated property and life over a vast region. We pray that they will receive enough International relief and aid to help them come out of extremely difficult times.
