First arrest will never be forgotten for police officers

This week I attended a public meeting organised by Queensbury Safer Neighbourhoods Sergeant Lorraine Warren.

The event was well attended with over a hundred people present.

Sergeant Warren reviewed the previous month's work which included closing three brothels on the ward.

PCSOs Helal Syed Ahmed and Henry Obaro recounted how they had caught a burglar whilst on patrol and were quite rightly very proud.

I still recall the first arrest I made in Tottenham and it is something that stays with you for all of your policing career.

PC Michelle Britton then described the arrest of a suspect who had been firing pellets from a high velocity air rifle into a public area.

I attended the London Chief Executive meeting which was hosted by Police Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson.

The event was very informative and it is clear the public sector wants to work more collaboratively across London.

I am very pleased with the relationship Harrow Police have with Harrow Council, in particular with Harrow Chief Executive Michael Lockwood and I believe this contributes significantly to our fight against crime.

The Harrow Strategic Partnership agreed the Local Area Agreement reward grant this week and I will be meeting with our partners to ensure the crime reduction element continues to be spent wisely.
