Praise for Harrow's united communities

I attended the Middlesex New Synagogue this week who were hosting a visit from Matthew Gould, newly appointed British Ambassador to Israel.

The reception at the synagogue was very well attended. Interestingly enough whilst I was introducing myself to the synagogue committee, police followed a suspect vehicle who were trying to avoid police into the car park of Middlesex New Synagogue.

The vehicle contained some burglary suspects and they were taken to South Harrow Police station for searching.

I met Lord Greville Janner of Braunstone QC at the Pakistan High Commissioners reception.

Lord Janner is a remarkable man who is very passionate around social cohesion and was very interested in how Harrow Communities managed to remain united despite demonstrations by the Far Right at Harrow.

Lord Janner has invited me to attend the House of Lords and discuss Harrow's excellent Community Relations and what lessons other areas can learn.

I completed two confirmation probationer interviews for PC Sophia Vieira and PC Lou Hamilton-Smith, both officers had been Community Support Officers before undertaking their Police Constable roles.

Both officers were extremely enthusiastic about their police careers and passion for policing Harrow.

I had a student from youth parliament work shadow me this week, her highlights were not the time she spent at the station with me but the time she was on patrol with Inspector Jack Murray and PCSO Laura Smith.

I can fully understand that PCSO Laura Smith is a extremely vivacious and gregarious officer and Inspector Murray is very experienced.
