Police officers put their lives at risk for the good of our communities.

This week I awarded a Borough Commander's Commendation to PC Paul Reynolds who stopped a suspect with a loaded firearm whilst on patrol.

The "British Bobby" still patrols unarmed and PC Reynolds showed a high level of bravery.

The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sir Paul Stephenson visited Harrow Borough this week.

He spent five hours speaking to the front line officers and police staff who work long, unsociable hours to ensure we continue to fight crime effectively here in Harrow.

Sir Paul was suitably impressed with Harrow's efforts and thanked officers and staff for their continued hard work.

The Sri Lankan Muslim Cultural Centre won the Harrow Inter-faith Cricket competition yesterday.

The prizes were handed out by Mrs Sonoo Malkani, Chair of The Harrow Police and Community Consultative Group and The Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Asad Omar.

Unfortunately the hugely talented Harrow Police team were knocked out at the semi finals stage of the competition.

1 - Lift the handle

2 - Turn the key

3 - Remove the key

4 - Store the key safely away from the front door.

Open windows

Make sure that all windows are shut and locked when you leave your house, even if you are only popping out for five minutes.

If you are working in your garden, please make sure that all windows at the front of your house are shut and locked.

When you go to bed at night make sure all downstairs windows are shut and locked.
