Police officers are never off duty.
I spoke to a colleague of mine this week PC Malden who arrested a burglar whilst travelling home and off duty.
Acts like this by police officers involve having to make quick decisions and acting immediately.
I remember on a number of occasions arresting suspects whilst off duty and instinctively reaching for my personal radio which, of course, I am not wearing.
Fortunately the Metropolitan Police Service provides us all with excellent training to deal with the wide range of situations we come across on and off duty.
I attended the Junior Citizen scheme this week.
The event is designed to equip young people with the necessary skills to deal with challenging situations.
The event was organised by Inspector Stuart Ward and PC Kam Nandha and was a huge success .
The Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Asad Omar attended and handed out prizes to pupils .
I spoke to the night duty officers this week during their parade and briefing.
All officers are made aware of who our main suspects are and which areas to patrol in between attending calls.
I attended the Headstone Residents' Association meeting this week and was very impressed with the high turnout of local residents.
I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet a group of Harrow residents who clearly understood the challenges we face in policing a London borough.
