A SYNAGOGUE raised £300 for charity by offering a bagel breakfast to parents and children.
Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue, in Northwood, sold the doughy treats for £1 each over Friday and Saturday and the money went to World Jewish Relief.
Rabbi Aaron Goldstein said: “For the children it was absolutely amazing. There were balloons up and it was like a big party.
“For the adults it sent out a really important message – look how our young people are enjoying themselves and at the same time raising funds for people in poverty.”
Nathaniel Berney who had his Bar Mitzvah on Saturday chose to talk about the day and urged the congregation to take part.
World Jewish Relief works to tackle poverty and hunger in the developing world.
