A TEENAGE girl has written a World Cup song with a Bollywood twist to show her support for England.

Anjali Solanki, 14, of Sandown Avenue, Northolt, has muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy, but won't let anything get in the way of her two loves, Bollywood music and football.

She teamed up with her Dad, Bollywood choreographer and dancer Jay Kumar to write an England Anthem.

It's the Time for England is a remake of the Bollywood song It's the Time to Disco from the hit film Kal Ho Naa Ho.

Jay, 43, who has taught dance classes in and around Harrow for a number of years, said: "We were playing around with a few songs, but nothing really grabbed us.

"Anjali then suggested Time to Disco and started writing the lyrics.

"This is not just a song for Asians, but for everyone."

Anjali said: "This is my favourite song, I want to get everyone running about to support the football. England's going to win."

Featuring Melissa Bell from Soul II Soul, among others, the track has been released to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Unicef.

One of the backing singers on the track is Nisha Patel, 41 of Rayners Lane.

She said: "I have never done anything like this before but as it was for charity I gave it a go.

"It was a bit daunting at first but I really enjoyed myself."

The single has been played on the BBC Asian Network, Sunrise Radio and national radio stations.

It is on sale in the HMV store in Harrow and Virgin stores. For more information see www.jaykumardance.com.
