Boris stops by to meet Harrow's transport police

The nature of police work inevitably means that officers often have to deal with challenging and demanding situations. Harrow Police officers and staff respond to many such situations in a single shift.

It is important that the Metropolitan Police Service continues to provides support for all our officers and staff and last week I was extremely pleased to meet the newly-appointed Senior Police Chaplain for the Metropolitan Police Service, Reverend Jonathon Osborne.

Jonathon provides a valuble service for our police officers and staff who wish talk about a whole range of issues.

Although Jonathon covers the whole of Metropolitan Police Service, he is based in north London.

Harrow hosted the Mayor's Question Time at Harrow School last Wednesday, March 3.

The Mayor, Boris Johnson, was particularly interested to meet the Local Safer Transport Team, who are based in Harrow Town Centre and The Harrow Town Centre Team.

I am pleased to say that crimes on buses continue to fall.

Last year they fell by 18 per cent and this year they have fallen by 10 per cent.

The Mayor then went on the beat with the Harrow-on-the-Hill Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
