A FILM charting John Lennon's early life which was part-shot in Pinner missed out on an award at last night's Baftas.
Nowhere Boy, the directorial debut from artist Sam Taylor-Wood, was hotly tipped to walk away with the prize for outstanding debut by a British director.
However, the biopic of the Beatle's childhood was beaten by Duncan Jones, who directed hit film Moon.
Nowhere Boy was also up for Outstanding British Film, but lost out to gritty Essex drama Fish Tank at the awards ceremony held at the Royal Opera House yesterday evening.
The film was shot around the streets of Pinner, which were transformed by the film crew to double for 1950s Liverpool where John Lennon grew up.
