Brent vigil for Mumbai terror victims

3:50pm Friday 27th November 2009

By Jack Royston

BRENT residents yesterday held a vigil to remember those who died in the Mumbai massacre one year on.

Barry Gardiner, MP for Brent North, said the event, at Shree Sanatan Hindu Mandir, in Ealing Road, Wembely, at 5pm, was small but sombre.

He said: “For those who were there it was something that was meaningful and people were able to pay their respects to those who died.

“It was small but I think in a sense you can look on the positive side and say that the community has moved on.”

Around 165 people were killed when terrorists launched a wave of bombings and shootings in the Indian capital, on November 26, 2008.
