WORK is beginning tomorrow on a radical facelift for a school in Harrow-on-the-Hill.
Phase One of building work on St Anselm’s Roman Catholic Primary School starts on Monday morning, kicking off a year long development programme.
Parts of the existing school, in Roxborough Park, will be knocked down to make way for the new building, containing a brand new layout of classrooms.
The school, built in 1932, says improvements are long overdue and the work will “bring it up to 21st century standards to better accommodate its 420 pupils and 46 staff”.
Planning permission for the new building was granted in May last year, and the work is due to be finished at the end of May 2010.
