A BRENT policeman who had sex with a vulnerable woman has avoided jail.
John Richmond, 53, of Buckinghamshire, admitted to misconduct in a public office after taking advantage of the 45-year-old two days after she discharged herself from hospital, in December last year.
He was working for the Metropolitan Police Missing Persons Unit, at Kilburn Police Station, at the time.
The former detective constable, who accepts his career with the Met is over, was handed a nine-month suspended sentence at Southwark Crown Court today.
