FOUR more cases of swine flu have been detected in Harrow amid a flurry of people being struck down across the capital.
NHS Harrow confirmed at the end of last week the total number of cases of the virus in the borough has risen to 12, including two pupils at Earlsmead First and Middle School.
Across London, nearly 2,000 people have been confirmed as having the infection, making it the second worst affect area in the country behind the West Midlands.
Several schools in Harrow have contacted the Health Protection Agency for advice on dealing with possible swine flu outbreaks, and seven schools have reported either confirmed or suspected cases.
No schools have been forced to close, and the number of confirmed cases in the borough remains relatively low.
Health Minister Andy Burnham warned Parliament last week the number of cases in the UK could rise to more than 100,000 a day by the end of August.
