A RISING rap star has been announced as the headline act for this year's Under One Sky.
Ironik will be the star attraction at the one-day music festival, playing to thousands at Kodak Sports Ground on Sunday, June 28.
The urban star, who is currently number three in the charts with his Elton John-sampled Tiny Dancer, will be in Harrow the day after he performs at Glastonbury.
Under One Sky, which has been established on the borough's calendar as a major musical event, is billed as a celebration of cultural diversity.
Last year's event attracted crowds of around 12,000. Attractions include a carnival parade, dance and sports zones, stalls, games, and the live music stage where Ironik will be performing.
Councillor Chris Mote, in charge of culture for Harrow Council, welcomed the announcement, saying: “We are very pleased to have an artist like Ironik perform at Under One Sky — it confirms that this festival is now firmly on the musical map.
“Last year's headliner was Jay Sean and Ironik shows that once again we can attract A-list acts.”
