HARROW celebrated the Sikh New Year with Indian drums, dancing and food on Friday.
People from across the borough's diverse communities gathered at Harrow Civic Centre, in Station Road, on Friday when there was a martial arts display to demonstrate Indian culture.
There were also speeches from a representative of the Indian High Commission and other dignitaries at the celebration, known as Vaisakhi.
Councillor Narinder Mudhar (Cons/Greenhill) said: “It went really well. I think really and truly it was down to the co-operation of the council.
“I feel proud to take the credit for having organised such a popular event.”
Councillor Husain Akhtar (Cons/ Canons Ward) said: “It was a very good performance. Everyone enjoyed it and we had something to eat as well.
“I think it was a very positive event which was positively received.”
