AN Albanian national jailed for a sex attack on a 14-year-old girl told police he was “virtually being raped himself”.

Binak Hasa, 19, and Jeton Jeshari, 18, lured two underage girls into a secluded area of woodland in the Grove Open Space, in Harrow town centre, before separating the pair and raping them.

Hasa, of Salmon Street, Kingsbury, first forced his victim to perform a sex act on him, which she said “seemed to go on for ages”.

He then pushed the terrified girl up against a tree and made her have sex with him, ignoring her cries of “please don't”.

Justin Bearman, prosecuting, told Harrow Crown Court today how the crack cocaine user denied the crime and told police he was “virtually being raped himself and couldn't believe his luck.”

He said Hasa claimed she “virtually forced” him, physically, to have sex with her, when in reality the rape left his victim mentally scarred and suffering from panic attacks.

Judge Nic Madge said: “She said she felt ashamed and had feelings of stupidity. She said she felt sick and dirty.”

In a statement read out in court, the girl, now 15, said her life had been changed forever. Justin Bearman, prosecuting, said: “She felt she could have been stronger and not let it happen.”

He told the court how she used to be happy, never afraid to go out in public, and kept up with fashion like all teenage girls.

But the brutal attack left her feeling vulnerable in public places and at times her panic attacks made her physically sick.

The worst time in the day for her was nighttime when Judge Madge said she “listens intently to every creaking floorboard, every drip and every move.”

Hasa and Jeshari saw the girls on a 183 bus heading to Harrow Bus Station on September 3.

The two 14-year-olds, who had been drinking alcopops and were tipsy, initially spoke to their attackers willingly and the rapists led them over a fence into the wood, promising them cannabis.

But signs of what was to come came before they walked away from the public place when Hasa's brother left the four, saying he did not want to be involved in what the men had planned.

While Hasa attacked one of the girls, Jeshari, a Kosovan national, forced the other to perform a sex act on him and only stopped when his friend's distraught victim joined them at the end of her ordeal.

Even after the pair left the girls in tears in the park, in Lowlands Road, they continued to torment them.

The court heard how Hasa had stolen his victim's phone and called her friend, saying if they wanted it back they would have to meet them in Kingsbury and pay £100.

The court heard how he told her: “Don't mess with me, I will bomb her house” and “I'll beat your best friend up. You don't want to mess with me, keep your little mouth shut”.

Jeshari, of Toorack Road, Wealdstone, has not admitted his crimes and still makes what Judge Madge described as “unsubstantiated allegations” against his victim.

James Sutherland, Hasa's laywer, claimed the pair had not planned the attack together, describing it as “opportunism,” but failed to convince the judge.

Mr Sutherland said: “It was a brutal attack on two young girls – that cannot be denied.”

He added: “These are two young teenagers, late in their teens, being confronted with two young girls and taking a brutal advantage of them.

“However that brutal advantage was taken independently of each other.”

He said his client had expressed remorse and shame for the attack and the embarrassment it had caused his family.

Aisha Khan, Jeshari's lawyer, described her client as a man of “good character” because he had no prior convictions and said his age should be taken into account during sentencing.

Hasa was handed seven years and eight months, while Jeshari was given seven years and nine months.

Detective Constable Laura Curry, of Harrow's Sapphire Unit, said: “I would like to thank the two 14-year-old victims and their families for their courage during this horrific ordeal.

“For them to stand up and see this through to the end is a testament to their bravery and strength of character.”
