PLANS to close a Kenton health centre are due to be considered by councillors at a meeting tonight.
Harrow Primary Care Trust (PCT) has taken emergency steps to close Kenmore Clinic, in Kenmore Road, without consulting residents, after a report exposed a catalogue of health and safety issues.
A report due to be presented to a Harrow Council committee by the PCT will describe the site as “unacceptable” and criticise levels of security, the building's heating and supplies of hot water, as well as raising concerns about asbestos.
The PCT says keeping the clinic open would be a waste of resources and wants to shut it, moving services provided their to other centres.
The meeting will start at 7.30pm, at Harrow Civic Centre, in Station Road.
