A PROLIFIC thief who habitually broke into and stole from cars has been banned from the borough.

Local cops were granted an Anti-social Behaviour Order (ASBO), banning 19-year-old Matthew O'Brien from entering the borough for the next three years.

O’Brien, who used to live in Barnard Gardens, Hayes, spent nine months in prison for committing more than 800 crimes between September 2005 and April 2007.

He was released on Tuesday, August 11, but was immediately slapped with the ASBO, banning him from both Harrow and Hillingdon where he committed most of his crimes.

Police are now asking the public to report O’Brien if they spot him in either of the boroughs, by calling police on 0208 423 1212, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

If he breaches his ASBO by entering the boroughs, he faces further punishment and possibly returning to jail.

How on earth is the public supposed to spot this young chap in Harrow?
He should be fitted with a tamper-proof GPS monitoring device and his location should be checked at a random time each day by the police.
Considering he has performed 800 crimes – he is hardly likely to take any notice of a ‘banning order’. He also needs some serious therapy.
