A TOWN centre bar will have to serve all drinks in plastic glasses after councillors imposed strict new conditions on its licence.
Yates's Wine Lodge, in Station Road, Harrow, had been plagued by a catalogue of violent incidents fuelled by customers drinking excessive amounts of alcohol.
The managers were hauled before a Harrow Council licensing panel today and told they must stop serving drinks in glasses and bottles.
They must also install new CCTV cameras, have police approved security personnel on the doors, and have security devices installed on the fruit machines, as the councillors came down hard on the troubled bar.
Police were called to the bar more times than any other licensed premises in Harrow during the last year, sparking the licensing review.
Sergeant Carl Davis, of Harrow Police, said he was pleased with the result and hoped it would help the bar prevent crime and disorder, and secure the safety of customers.
