POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after an elderly woman's bag was stolen from her supermarket trolley as she shopped in Harrow.
The 80-year-old woman had been shopping alone at Tesco, in Station Road, between 2.30pm and 2.45pm, on Friday, October 12, when she noticed her carrier bag containing a purse, £40 cash, a debit card and her reading glasses had been taken.
She had finished a call on her mobile phone when she discovered the bag had gone.
A withdrawal of £200 was later attempted with the stolen debit card.
