10:49am Monday 15th October 2007

AN EXHIBITION commemorating the 60th anniversary of the partition of India is now on show in Harrow.

Set up by charity, Aik Saath, with the aim of educating people about the 1947 partition, the exhibition is intended to promote racial harmony and improve community relations.

Aik Saath hopes to give visitors a greater understanding of the period's history, during which around 1million people died.

People from different religious backgrounds who were in India at the time, were interviewed for the exhibition, with their quotes incorporated alongside pictures, sound and newsreel.

The exhibition will run until Sunday, November 4, at Harrow Museum, in Pinner View, which is open weekdays from noon to 5pm, and at weekends from 10.30am to 5pm.

Entry is free.
