Schoolchildren performed special dance routines for the community in anticipation for the switch on of Christmas lights.
Pupils from three Harrow schools joined the mayor, Councillor Kareema Marikar, to turn on the festive lights in Kenton Road on November 7.
The event was organised by the Kenton Area Traders Association.
Children from St Gregory’s Catholic College, Uxendon Manor Primary School and The Mount Stewart Schools sang songs while students from Uxendon Manor danced celebrating Diwali.
Cllr Marikar then led the crowd in a countdown before turning on the Christmas lights.
Harrow councillors and the deputy leader of the council, Keith Ferry, congratulated the Kenton Area Traders Association and praised the pupils.
Kenton Area Traders Association chairperson, Ketan Mandalia, said: “I am delighted to see the switching on of Kenton’s festive lights attracting more people each year.
“This year’s event was a fantastic celebration of community cohesion. I hope everyone who came along enjoyed the event and continues to enjoy the lights over the whole festive period.”
