New digital advertising boards will soon be popping up across Harrow after the council agreed a deal with a major media company.
Clear Channel will introduce ten double-sided, free-standing units in the borough, which will feature messages from the council alongside various adverts.
It has also agreed to put up several “community information” panels, which will just display council advice. These are expected to be in place by the end of the year.
Cllr Keith Ferry, deputy leader of Harrow Council, said the partnership is “great value for taxpayers” as they will benefit from new, relevant advertising boards.
He also praised the decision to offer up a grant that will be used for environmental projects in Harrow in collaboration with the charity Trees for Cities.
This money will be used to plant more trees in the borough, as well as for general maintenance of its parks and green spaces.
