A second man has been arrested in connection to a murder investigation from the 1980s involving a sub-machine gun.
The man who is in his 80s was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder at Gatwick Airport on August 9, arriving on an inbound flight to the UK.
He was taken to a central London police station where he remains in custody.
This follows the arrest of a 77-year-old man in Antrim in Northern Ireland on August 2, also on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
He was subsequently released under investigation.
On November 29, 1985 Gerard Hoarau was gunned down on the doorstep of his home in Greencourt Avenue in Edgware with a sub-machine gun.
A review of the investigation was initiated in 2016 from which fresh lines of enquiry were established, leading to these two arrests.
Anyone with information in relation to the murder of Mr Hoarau should contact the investigation team at EdgwareMurderAppeal@met.police.uk.
