A major regeneration project that will deliver more than 300 homes moved a step closer to realisation as Brent Council secured building and housing partners.
The £160 million Peel development, on the South Kilburn Estate, will be carried out by Countryside in collaboration with Home Group.
It will deliver 308 new homes, of which 40 per cent will be deemed affordable.
Forming part of the wider South Kilburn regeneration programme, there will also be a new health centre and gym, a host of shops and a market square.
Cllr Shama Tatler, responsible for regeneration at Brent Council, praised the decision to award contracts to these partners.
She said: “The selection of Countryside and Home Group as our preferred development partner for the next phase of this scheme is an important step towards the regeneration of the estate and the council's commitment to deliver much-needed new homes and facilities in the area.”
Representatives from Home Group and Countryside said they were honoured to be involved in the project.
