A hospital nursery got into the spirit of Shrove Tuesday by eating a selection of delicious pancakes.
The children and staff at Northwick Park Nursery in Harrow visited a nearby supermarket to buy the pancakes, which they complemented with various toppings.
It formed part of the ‘Growing up Healthy’ programme where they learnt about the importance of a balanced diet.
They were given pieces of fruit, which were described as just as tasty as sweeter toppings, to go with the pancakes.
Gosia Nowocinska, manager at Northwick Park Nursery, said: “Back at the nursery, the children learned how to cut fruits safely in order to use them as a topping on their pancake, which they then ate.”
