A leisure centre is celebrating Black History Month with a number of special guests and events.

Harrow Leisure Centre has invited poet and author Cletus Edo and ‘Chaser’ Shaun Wallace to give talks and will also be offering several free activities on October 27.

Fitness sessions led by Everyone Active’s African Caribbean Association will kick things off, followed by an audience with quiz champion Wallace, who regularly appears on the hit TV show ‘The Chase’.

Cletus Edo, who wrote ‘Black Briton’, will then give an inspiring talk, while there will be an information stall and giveaways throughout the day. There will also be the chance to undertake a free health assessment.

Everyone Active contract manager John Sewell said: “We’ve such an exciting day planned to celebrate the observance of Black History Month.

“With inspiring and noteworthy guests, we’re thrilled to be able to open our doors and hope that many people will get involved.”

In the evening, Wallace will host a quiz night followed by a buffet, raffle and entertainment until late.

Tickets for the evening event, which starts at 7pm, can be bought for £15 and must be booked by contacting Patricia on 07399 584 462.
