Pupils win photography awards

SCHOOLS in Harrow have celebrated winning the Kodak Schools Photographic Award.

The awards, held earlier this month at the Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre is now in its 14th year, and the theme for the 2007 competition was Curve'.

The winner was selected from the best photographs from the 738 entries received from young people aged 5 to 16.

Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Jean Lammiman presented the winners with certificates to mark their achievement together with a range of Kodak Easyshare digital cameras.

An exhibition of all the winning entries, both traditional and digital images, can be viewed at the Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre throughout this month.

Julian Baust, chairman and managing director of Kodak Limited, said: "The enormous entry received this year clearly proves that this competition has taken root in Harrow schools and that photography is being taught to the highest standards."

The Overall Award Winner for 2005, which recognised the outstanding image for all categories went to: Ian Smart, Nower Hill School.
