A superstar Para-canoeist is hoping to add another accolade to her glistening trophy cabinet at the upcoming The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards.

Emma Wiggs, from Harrow, is up for the ‘Disabled Athlete of the Year’ prize alongside fellow canoeist Jeanette Chippington, sprinter Sophie Hahn and wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the awards, which recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution to sport made by elite athletes, coaches, administrators, community volunteers and inspirational women.

The event takes place on October 26 at Hilton London Bankside Hotel at 8pm. It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Mix.
