A woman is frustrated with the anti-social behaviour happening outside a library.

Harrow resident Asha Tailor, 34, has been asking authorities for the past 18 months to do something about people sitting and drinking outside Roxeth Library, Northolt Road.

Benches from at the front of the library were removed in May, but the group have continued to use the area and now carry their own deck chairs to the site.

She said: “There are more and more people sitting here, it seems like everyone knows about it but no one does anything to stop it.

“They stand outside begging for money, I’ve seen people urinating on the building and the bins are full of beer cans, it’s disgusting.

“This is meant to be a place for children to go but they are always here. It is getting to the point where they are out of control.”

The financial analyst advises that instead of being asked to leave the area that they have been allowed to use the library toilets.

It is thought that some of the people live in the borough but choose to sit outside the library each day.

Ms Thomas added: “It’s not the greatest high street, but we never had this before.

“I know that if I feel this way then other people will too, and it’s very anti-social.”

Harrow Council and MP for Harrow Gareth Thomas were contacted for comment but were not available at the time of going to print.
