A cardboard box left on top of an oven is believed to have caused a fire in a shop.

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers from Finchley and Hornsey fire stations were called to a fire at Creativity Crazy, in High Road, North Finchley.

The Brigade was called at 10.26pm, on Thursday, June 8, and the fire was under control at 11.15pm.

Ten people evacuated the flats above the shop and the building next door before the arrival of the Brigade.

Part of the shop was damaged by fire but there were no reports of any injuries.
