‘Make do and mend’ kit bags workshops will take place on Monday, May 29 until Friday, June 2. Add a personal touch to your bag so you can take it away and fill with all your precious things. This activity will be taking place underneath the Avro Lancaster in Bomber Hall.

Storytelling Sessions will take place on Wednesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 2 in the Home Front rooms that will transport listeners back to 1942. Meet Margery who is demonstrating how to make the most of her rations allowance by following some simple but unusual recipes.

In Spot the Slang Trail on Saturday, May 27 to Sunday, June 4, 10am to 5pm, the First World War brought together service personnel from different countries and backgrounds. Slang words were used to help people to describe some of their experiences and this new trail will help families work together and learn some of the terms used. In the Spot the Slang trail, definitions can be found amongst the exhibits on site during a visit.

Children can learn the magical circus arts of juggling, plate spinning, diabolo or tight rope in a special Circus Skills Workshop taking place on May 30, from 1 to 4pm, with a special performance of children’s brand new skills at the end of the day.

On May 30 they will be also screening The BFG at 11am with a Make Your Own Giant Ears pre-film workshop.

On June 1 at 2pm hapless hero is in a totally word-free clown in the magic show POP! Mr Bean meets Charlie Chaplin in this feast of illusion comedy and a massive balloon. In the show Christian is all set for a lovely day at the seaside until the day takes a turn for the worst.

On June 2 there is an exclusive screening of The Secret Life of Pets at 11am. The creators of Despicable Me finally answer the question: what do your pets do when you’re out?

This will be preceded by a special workshop at 10am in which little ones can Make Your Own Pet.

Then on June 9 they are screening Oscar hit La La Land or, for those with very young children, Baby Box Office has a lowered film volume, free movement during the screening and soft lighting within the auditorium so that viewers can take some time out of the demanding, yet rewarding, experience of looking after a new baby and ease yourself into the world on-screen.
