Collectors of football trading cards are being encouraged to support a youth football team and give them a chance to win a training day with a Premier League star.

The Harrow St Marys team are “incredibly close” to securing the opportunity to spend the day with Manchester City and Belgium national team player Kevin De-Bruyne, and are currently in eighth position on the leader board for the “Club Together” initiative.

The scheme was created by Topps, publisher of Match Attax, the world’s best-selling football trading card game.

The club needs to reach the top three and is hoping for more people to collect and register unique codes for the team, which are printed inside packets of Match Attax Extra trading cards.

Rod Pearson, the marketing director for Topps said: “We are dedicated to giving budding football teams across the country the chance to benefit from our support and from the expertise of heroes and legends on the pitch.

“Club Together is Topps’ way of thanking the fans for their continued support throughout the year. This is our third year running Club Together and it’s really heart-warming to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they meet their football idols.”

“With incredible prizes and unique opportunities available, there has never been a better time for children and Match Attax collectors to club together to help give passionate young footballers a chance to earn life-changing experiences.”
